Pre-Authorization Supervisor

 

About the role:
The Pre-Authorization team is a part of our The Health Economics and Market Access function that works collaboratively throughout Boston Scientific to secure appropriate payment for physicians and hospitals, increase patient access to our technologies, and strengthen business initiatives. As a Pre-Authorization Supervisor, you will lead a team of customer service representatives dedicated to the pain management business in the support of insurance authorizations and follow up in a timely manner to Boston Scientific US customers.
 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising a staff of Pre-Authorization Specialists by evaluating daily caseload by region and determining appropriate caseloads to maximize, productivity and turnaround in the department.  
  • Maintaining daily operational activities for therapies to ensure excellent customer service with established regional customers and sales support.
  • Liaison for BSC Pain Management team to help facilitate positive communication with Field Reimbursement and Sales teams to develop training and workflow systems that help expedite timely receipt of authorizations.
  • Managing of Team's monthly reporting of activities via productivity logs and continual tracking using customer relationship management system.
  • Working with IT and Management to create better tracking logs to measure turnaround and productivity of the Pre-authorization Support team.
  • Primary intermediary for customers regarding problems and concerns on all insurance authorizations and billing issues, product information and delivery information.
  • Evaluating team performance, providing training, mentoring and supporting the team's ability to meet core business competencies.
  • Leading team, including workforce planning, recruitment, skill and performance assessment, workload distribution, training compliance, professional development, and corrective action.
  • Working with team and leadership to identify deficits in current workflows, systems and providing timely solutions to support BSC teams at all levels and customers.
  • Performing other duties as required.

 
What we’re looking for in you:
Minimum Qualifications

  • Associates degree plus 5 years of related work experience, or an equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment
  • Subject matter expert in SalesForce.com
  • Solid Knowledge Excel, Word, Outlook
  • Ability to handle confidential material in a HIPAA compliant manner
  • Ability to direct, lead and motivate others in a team environment
  • Motivated self-starter

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Experience leading a diverse team. 
  • Supervisory experience in pre-authorization.
