About the role:

 

Provides support and technical assistance for internal and off-site surgical training labs.  Customer facing role with Physicians.  Supports employee training, customer training and new product validations for optimum efficiency and educational experience.  Works with prepping cadaveric specimens for product implantation. Collects and sorts contaminated product and instruments for decontamination. Cleans, repackages, and sterilizes product, instruments and equipment according to procedures. Ensures specialty equipment is stocked and ready for immediate use. Maintains inventory and facilitates shipment of product, supplies and equipment to off-site labs as requested.  Ensures proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as well as radiation badges are provided for internal and external training labs.  Orders, manages, inventories and returns cadaveric specimens.


Your responsibilities will include:

 

  • 20% travel required for the role, including some weekend travel.
  • Surgical set-up, prepping and positioning of cadaveric specimens.
  • Prepares instruments, supplies and equipment to correspond with scheduled training sessions.  
  • Ensures proper functioning of equipment prior to and during procedures.  Replaces product and equipment, as needed.
  • Responsible for safe efficient practices for decontamination, instrument assembly, wrapping and sterilization of all reprocessed product, instruments and equipment.
  • Assist Boston Scientific employees and physicians during surgical training labs. 
  • Assists in operating Floroscopy  equipment.
  • Maintain inventory and facilitate shipment of product, supplies and equipment to off-site labs.
  • Provides PPE and Radiation badges during training sessions.
  • Schedules Radiation Technicians to run fluoroscopy machines for training sessions.
  • Responsible for submitting Purchase Orders and Invoices for payment.
  • Orders, manages, inventories and returns cadaveric specimens to vendors.


Required qualifications:

 

  • 3 years with an Associate degree or an equivalent combination of education/work experience.
  • Experience as a Nurse, Operating Room (OR) Technician, Surgical Technician, Radiation Technician, Sterile Processing Tech or Central Services Technician is preferred.
  • Familiar with names and uses of surgical instruments.
  • Ability to travel, work overtime and travel over some weekdays/weekends.  Approximately 20% travel required.  International travel may be expected.
  • Able to work with cadaveric specimens.
  • Able to solely lift 25lbs at a minimum.


Preferred qualifications:

 

  • Surgical Tech, LVN, RN or technical degree.
  • Radiation Technician certification is a plus but not required.
  • Previous interactions with Physicians in clinic, hospital setting and/or Operating Room.
  • Familiar with OR Protocol and Sterile field.
  • Previous experience in Front/back office in a Medical Practice or Hospital is a plus.

 

Rate of pay:  $25.00min - $33.75 mid - $42.50 max
