About the role:
Boston Scientific is seeking a Principal Product Cybersecurity Engineer whose primary responsibility is to ensure the safety and security of the Neuromodulation products, applications and supporting infrastructure, as well as compliance to the Quality Systems and Processes. The candidate will oversee product cybersecurity activities, in accordance with the strategy, to make cybersecurity an integral component of our Neuromodulation business.
The ideal candidate will have a combination of both business and technical skills in order to:
- Successfully design and manage the functional and technical aspects of the plan
- Work across R&D departments and drive security-by-design architectural decisions
Your responsibilities include:
- Participate and direct cybersecurity operations for pre and post market cybersecurity activities;
- Work with R&D project teams to define and deliver secure-by-design products
- Participate in and review product security risk analysis and threat modelling activities.
- Identify applicable software and tools that can be used to support related activities such as vulnerability analysis and monitoring and integration of the tools into the quality process.
- Coordinate internal and external Coordinated Vulnerability Disclosure reports of divisional products.
- Oversee cybersecurity reviews of new/sustaining products, providing inputs/technical expertise to eliminate and/or mitigate cybersecurity risks.
- Coordinate threat intelligence and management activities, secure code reviews, vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, 3rd party risk and customer cybersecurity contract reviews.
- Work closely with Global Product Cybersecurity team to ensure alignment with global cybersecurity initiatives and policies.
- Organize and report on divisional product inventory, generation and maintenance of product security whitepapers, MDS2’s (Manufacturer Disclosure Statement for Medical Device Security), and other external or internal controlled cybersecurity documents.
- Provide periodic product cybersecurity updates and communication to senior leadership.
- Monitor and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

- Acts independently, as guided by very broad company policies and objectives.
- Must be able to dive deep technically on cybersecurity domains, customer needs, and influence "change of ways".
- Participates in initiatives to develop and establish cybersecurity policies.
What we’re looking for:
Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science required, Masters preferred.
- 5+ years software engineering experience.
- 5+ years in cybersecurity leadership role
- Strong general knowledge in:
- Software Development/DevOps
- Cloud computing
- Embedded computing
- Experience developing secure products from concept to commercialization
- Experience across various OS platforms such as Windows, MacOS, Linux, and Mobile (iOS, Android)
