About the role:

Responsible for the initiation, design, development, execution, and implementation of scientific research projects.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Investigates the feasibility of applying scientific principles and concepts to potential technologies, materials, processes and products.
  • Plans and executes laboratory research to prove feasibility of concepts.
  • Maintains substantial knowledge of state-of-the-art principles and theories and contributes to scientific literature and conferences.
  • Participates in intellectual property evaluations and development of patent applications.
  • Consults and interacts with outside and inside experts.
  • Write and submit professional articles for technical journals.

 

 

Required qualifications:

  • PhD in Neuroscience, either Computation or Systems
  • Thesis specialization in the subject matter of neurodegenerative disorders within the last 4 years
  • Experience in laboratory animal/human work on ensemble brain recordings, brain mapping, in vivo Single unit or multi-unit recordings
  • Experience in modeling cortical/sub cortical brain activity
  • Exposure/experience in imaging modalities
  • Exposure to functional neuroanatomy
  • Experience in grant proposal writing
  • Minimum of 1-2 peer-reviewed publications from PhD research either as first or corresponding author
  • Ability to travel up to 25% within the US and International

 

 

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ability to serve as a liaison for external contacts
  • Proven ability to work well within a team and mentor others
