About the role:

Define, Overview design & oversee the manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, checkout and support, and validation of special and automated test equipment.  This includes writing test requirements, test specs, test software, test procedures, validation plans and reports.  Scope of equipment - R&D verification and validation and production test equipment for both new product development and existing product sustaining.


Your responsibilities include: 

  • Design test equipment, mainly automated test equipment (ATE), including overall system design, digital and analog circuit design, instrumentation specification, and test software programming.
  • Leading the ATE process from early prototype stage working with design team to delivering a validated test equipment to manufacturing.
  • Define and develop test requirement and test specifications for optimize test while working closely with the design, manufacturing and quality team.
  • Perform test system statistical analysis, defining all required test equipment, estimating costs and determining test equipment build schedule.
  • Generate related documents such as manufacturing test specifications, test software requirements, software intended use, test procedure, validation plan and report.
  • Oversee the manufacturing and checkout of test equipment.
  • Validate test systems and test fixtures in FDA-regulated medical environment.
  • Oversee the test system validation and quality buy-off.
  • Technically support product troubleshooting for sustaining products.
  • Support verification and validation testing of products.


What we’re looking for:


  • 3+ years Automated Test Equipment (ATE) design or equivalence.
  • 5+ years electronics and software design experience associated with the development of test systems.
  •  2+ years experience with LabView and/or C++ programming of test systems.
  • BS degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent; MS degree preferred.
  • Evidence of continuing education in new technology development and applications, as well as advanced product development tools and processes.



  • Test system design for high reliability applications: Experience designing test systems for medical, aerospace, automotive, or other high reliability applications.
  • Experience with electronic test system design/development is mandatory
  • Experience with various types of data acquisition.
  •  Ability to document designs and reports in a clear and concise manner.
  • Hands-on, action-oriented, with good analytical and experimental work habits. Good interaction with other team members in the development of specifications and project plans. Effective in producing clearly written technical and non-technical product documentation
