Senior Business Consultant


About this role:

The Business Consultant will support global businesses/divisions & functions to drive a continuous improvement culture and Value Improvement Projects to achieve BSC’s strategic Gross Margin and Operating Income goals. The Business Consultant will coach and mentor BSC’s Global Value Improvement (GVI) roadmap, tools, and training while continuing to improve the GVI methodology and best practice sharing throughout the enterprise. This person will support the Massachusetts-based divisions and global functions.  Current Massachusetts-based divisions and functions include: Endoscopy, Urology Pelvic Health, Corporate Marketing, Pre-clinical, Legal & Compliance, Quality & Regulatory, Canada and Finance. The Business Consultant will partner with their assigned global business/division or function while also applying a global mindset to identify and improve BSC end-to-end enterprise opportunities.



Your responsibilities include:

  • Project manage various global and functional projects with teams to drive business outcomes
  • Collaborate with leaders and their organization to inspire a continuous improvement culture by deploying process improvement/operational excellence roadmaps, methods and tools across the enterprise
  • Influence leaders and teams to deliver on plans
  • Support problem solving and resolution to roadblocks
  • Work cross-culturally motivating teams in the development and adoption of global best practices in difficult scenarios
  • Build a strong pipeline of value improvement projects to achieve SG&A (sales, general, and administrative expenses), gross margin and operating income goals
  • Influence best practices and adoption of improvement ideas, activities, and outcomes
  • Partner with leaders, champions and employees to share best practices to further accelerate the rate of improvement
  • Facilitate kaizen events and other workshops to target key enterprise improvements and provide instant offense when necessary to drive strategic business priorities
  • Facilitate best in class Value Improvement, Lean, Lean Business Process (LBP), and Value Improvement Process (VIP) training for employees at all levels


What we’re looking for in you:

Minimum Qualifications

  • BS/BA Degree in Industrial & Systems Engineering or related field and/or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of Process Improvement / Lean related experience
  • Proven results applying lean in enterprise-wide and transactional environments
  • Self-starter and entrepreneurial/consultant mindset
  • Ability to build enthusiasm for change
  • Strong interpersonal communication and presentation skills
  • Demonstrated project management skills
