About the role:

The Neuromodulation Senior Downstream Marketing Manager is responsible for the development of specific marketing plans and activities for Pain Stimulation products, which include Spinal Cord Stimulators and Radiofrequency Ablation devices to establish, enhance, or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena. Develops business plans and product positioning in the marketplace. Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity, identifies customer needs, and establishes pricing strategies. Interfaces with engineering, manufacturing, and sales to develop new products or enhance existing product(s) or product line(s). Additionally, this role focuses on building and managing strategic relationships with stakeholders, influencing without authority, and driving consensus in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.

 

The Downstream Marketing Manager can be based in Valencia, CA, Arden Hills, MN or Maple Grove, MN.  This is a hybrid role with expectations of being on-site at least 3 days per week.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Design strategies to maximize the profitability of product lines by collaborating with assigned staff, conducting market research, and performing financial analyses.
  • Determine clear and specific priorities for the development of new products and product enhancements by defining customer needs and working with other internal functional groups.
  • Evaluate promotional plans to ensure they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed.
  • Evaluate strategies for product launches to ensure products are properly positioned and that brochures, sales sheets, and supporting materials will launch products successfully and stimulate sales.
  • Make recommendations whether product launches should proceed as scheduled when problems occur during clinical evaluations by weighing the risks against the gains.
  • Develop and broaden strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Facilitate networking and collaboration among team members.
  • Influence stakeholders at all levels, challenging views while maintaining collaborative relationships.
  • Act as a stakeholder point of contact for large projects, defining roles and responsibilities.
  • Lead mediation discussions with stakeholders to gain alignment on approaches, processes, and deliverables.
  • Oversee market research, monitor competitive activity, and identify customer needs.
  • Develop recommendations on translating data collected on customer needs into engineering measures to evaluate product's performance.
  • Propose the allocation of resources to assist in managing products' life cycle from concept through retirement by assessing needs and objectives.
  • Develop recommendations on appropriate prices for new products and on pricing and positioning strategies.
  • Contribute toward the development of an annual departmental budget by forecasting future needs, utilizing previous year's budget, current objectives, and budget guidelines.
  • Represent the company by visiting accounts to solicit feedback on company products and services.
  • Organize physician symposiums by working with assigned staff in commissioning doctors to participate and working with internal departments to promote and schedule events.

 

Required qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and at least 5 years of professional experience in marketing, business development, or a related field.
  • 4+ years of professional experience in strategic relationship building and stakeholder engagement.
  • Proven ability to influence without authority and drive consensus in complex, multi-stakeholder environments.
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic marketing plans.
  • Familiarity with market research methodologies and data analysis.
  • Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time.

Preferred qualifications:

  • MBA, MPH, or MHA in health policy or a related field.
  • Experience in the medical device industry, specifically with neuromodulation devices.
  • Technical skills in marketing automation and CRM systems.
  • Proven ability to develop pricing strategies and conduct financial analyses.
  • Strong communication and networking skills, with a global mindset.

 

The expected annualized base pay range this full-time position working at this location will be from $100,700 to $191,300, plus annual bonus (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements) and the value of core and optional employee benefits being offered at BSC, which can be reviewed at www.bscbenefitsconnect.com. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Boston Scientific considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, and other relevant business or organizational needs. Actual compensation may be otherwise adjusted if the position is filled outside of the intended geographic location.
