About the role:

The Sr. Finance Manager drives all financial aspects of the New Business Development function, including acquisition and investment analysis, due diligence, and integration activities of any acquisitions. Additionally, they will support financial reporting and visualization of the Division, specifically related to the strategic plan, annual operating plan and the various analyses of each. 

This person will play a key role in reviewing financial information on acquisition targets, coordinating financial assumptions with cross functional partners, and integrating those data into P&L forecasts and discounted cash flow models of acquisitions. In addition to potential acquisition modeling and subsequent due diligence activities, post acquisitions this person will take the lead role in integrating into BSC from a financial standpoint, i.e. systems, processes, etc.  Position reports to the Vice President, Finance Neuromodulation, matrix relationship to New Business Development and has a high degree of exposure to the Neuromodulation senior management team, as well as interaction with other divisional and regional finance groups across the organization.  This is currently an individual contributor role. 


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

New Business Development

  • Works with the Business Development team to perform pro-forma modeling of potential acquisition targets
  • Supports business case development for new partnerships, venture capital investments, and collaborations
  • Manages quarterly reporting requirements for ongoing venture capital investments or related needs
  • Monitors ongoing commercial and R&D partnerships and supports analysis on associated business models
  • Owns financial integration of acquired companies, identifies key integration issues and tasks, and works with the finance team to identify best solution, owner(s) and timing


Financial Reporting & Communication

  • Oversees reporting and presentation development including monthly business updates related to AOP or Strat Plan
  • Simplifies the process for gathering data and improving the storyline for AOP and Strat plan
  • Establish financial models, metrics and scorecards to assess and monitor internal program results
  • Reviews models, assumptions and presentations going before the Portfolio Investment Board to assure sound financials



  • Undergraduate degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or Business required. MBA/Master’s degree preferred, CPA a plus.


Basic Requirements:

8+ years working in Finance, including FP&A or Accounting, and business support experience is required; Experience in due diligence, investment analysis and acquisitions is highly preferred. Prior experience operating and managing within a large company preferred. Must be able to work well in a complex, highly-matrixed worldwide organization and be able to simplify that matrix for reporting and analytical purposes. Manufacturing experience a plus.

The successful candidate will need to exhibit the following skills:

  • Strong PC skills. Familiarity with Hyperion and SAP a plus.
  • Very strong financial analysis and Excel modeling skills. Attention to detail a must.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to consolidate, synthesize and report on large amounts of financial data
  • Ability to work autonomously and act in a consultative role
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment.  Ability to multi-task.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills.
  • Strong process and time management skills.
