About the role: 
The Training Specialist contributes to the success of Boston Scientific and our customers by ensuring that our team members meet all requirement and that we continuously seek to improve upon skills and knowledge for our operations team members.  This role is responsible for managing all aspects of training for the Preauthorization Department, monitoring effectiveness of training, and identifying and driving ongoing improvements. 


Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and conducting product training and education programs for department personnel and external customers that support departmental and company goals.
  • Evaluating training needs of departmental personnel by evaluating employee's knowledge, skills and abilities (KSAs) against needs of job and identifying KSA gaps where training is a solution to ensure on-going development of employees' ability to meet customer and job requirements. 
  • Implementing measurements to improve company personnel performance or enhance employee job related knowledge in coordination with departmental leadership.
  • Writing training plan by working with departmental stakeholders where required to establish the purpose and scope of the procedures, research information to be included, and formulate the procedure to document guidelines for ensuring operating efficiency.
  • Deliver training sessions, both in the classroom, and on-the-job training (OJT) 
  • Conduct observations and audits to ensure training effectiveness and compliance 
  • Identifying the need for remedial/refresher training if deficiencies are observed and develop tools to improve skills and behaviors
  • Scheduling and preparing training location(s) and materials and ensure that students are provided with pre-work and location details to provide an excellent learning experience and environment


Required qualifications: 

  • 3+ years’ experience conducting training and education gaps analysis; and developing and conducting training and education programs to improve efficiencies and effectiveness of personnel in a health or medical environment.
  • Ability to travel up to 10%

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Bachelor Degree in related field preferred but not required
  • Experience with medical device and/or insurance preauthorization requirements 
  • Experience with and Learning Management Systems preferred 
  • Self-starter with strong analytical and presentation skills
