About the role:

As the Vice President, HR Business Partner for Neuromodulation, you will be at the forefront of driving innovative, world-class HR strategies that align with Boston Scientific’s corporate vision and directly enable the growth and success of the Neuromodulation business. In this highly visible and impactful role, you will serve as a trusted advisor to the President of Neuromodulation, partnering closely with the Neuromodulation senior leadership team to shape and execute transformative people and talent strategies.

This role reports directly to the President of Neuromodulation, with a strong dotted-line partnership to the SVP & CHRO.

 

Work model and relocation:

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and in-person connection. This role follows a hybrid work model and is based in Valencia, California, requiring employees to be on site at least three days per week.

 

Key Responsibilities:

Shape and Drive HR Strategy

  • Define and implement innovative HR strategies aligned to the Neuromodulation business strategy, ensuring optimal organizational structures, workforce plans, and resources to achieve short- and long-term business objectives.
  • Integrate data-driven insights and AI-supported workforce analytics to shape proactive talent, organizational, and capability strategies.
  • Act as a strategic architect of talent and organizational strategies, translating business priorities into impactful HR solutions.

 

Deliver Excellence in HR Services

  • Leverage emerging technologies, including AI‑enabled HR tools, to enhance decision-making, workforce insights, and the delivery of scalable, high‑quality HR solutions.
  • Partner with HR Centers of Excellence to deliver integrated, scalable, and high-quality HR solutions that meet the evolving needs of the Neuromodulation business.
  • Ensure global HR processes and systems are effectively deployed while maintaining flexibility to address unique business requirements.

 

Build and Attract Top Talent

  • Develop and execute robust workforce and succession plans to ensure the Neuromodulation organization has the right talent, in the right roles, at the right time.
  • Partner with leadership to design and execute strategies that attract, develop, and retain top industry talent.

 

Develop and Elevate Talent

  • Lead the Neuromodulation talent agenda, including leadership assessments, succession planning, and development initiatives to build future-ready leaders and teams.
  • Coach senior leaders to strengthen leadership capability and organizational effectiveness.

 

Foster an Inclusive and High-Performance Culture

  • Champion Boston Scientific values and drive cultural initiatives that engage, inspire, and empower the Neuromodulation organization.
  • Equip leaders with strategies and tools to embed diversity, equity, and inclusion across all aspects of the business.

 

Lead and Mentor

  • Serve as a trusted coach and advisor to the President of Neuromodulation, the senior leadership team, and the HR organization.
  • Provide inclusive and inspirational leadership to direct and indirect reports, fostering collaboration, accountability, and excellence.

 

Enable Organizational Effectiveness

  • Partner with Neuromodulation leadership to assess, design, and implement organizational structures that support strategy execution and growth.
  • Drive clarity around roles, decision-making, collaboration, and workforce planning to optimize performance and agility.

 

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in a progressive Human Resources organization or relevant business environment.
  • Some HR experience supporting complex, global commercial organizations.
  • Demonstrated success working in matrixed, growth-oriented environments.
  • Proven ability to envision, drive, and sustain complex organizational change with strong execution discipline.
  • Strong track record of people leadership, including building and developing high-performing HR teams.
  • Experience designing and implementing differentiated talent strategies across diverse functions and geographies.
  • Deep expertise in talent, development, engagement, and retention.
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering an inclusive, equitable, and engaging workplace culture that supports all employees.
  • Proven ability to coach and influence senior executives as a credible business and talent advisor.
  •  Exceptional executive presence with the ability to communicate confidently and credibly with senior leaders, broader employee audiences, and large groups in live, in‑person settings.

Maximum Salary: $429200 

 

The anticipated compensation listed above and the value of core and optional employee benefits offered by Boston Scientific (BSC) – see www.bscbenefitsconnect.com--will vary based on actual location of the position and other pertinent factors considered in determining actual compensation for the role. Compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, among other relevant business or organizational needs. At BSC, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the anticipated salary range listed above.

 

Compensation for hourly, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation from time to time (e.g., any overtime and shift differential) and annual bonus target (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for salaried, non-sales roles may also include variable compensation, i.e., annual bonus target and long-term incentives (subject to plan eligibility and other requirements).

 

Compensation for sales roles is governed by Sales Incentive Compensation Plan (which includes certain annual non-discretionary incentives based on predetermined objectives).

This job involves regular collaboration with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders across Canada, the U.S., and/or internationally, making proficiency in English essential for effective communication and alignment. English is necessary for engaging with a range of documentation and maintaining effective communication if interacting with external clients or vendors.

As detailed in the job description, this job involves communicating, both verbally and in writing, with other Boston Scientific teams located across Canada, the United States and/or with our international clients and partners. International customers and partners represent an important part of our activities. Based on an evaluation, we have determined that the duties of Vice President, HR Business Partner - Neuromodulationposition require knowledge of English in addition to French (oral and written). We also determined that the English language skills already required of other employees do not permit the performance of English language skills tasks related to Vice President, HR Business Partner - Neuromodulation position.

However, in Québec, Boston Scientific limits as much as possible the number of positions for which it requires the knowledge of another language than French. Boston Scientific solely requires proficiency in English where it is necessary for the performance of an employee’s duties.
