About the role

The Business Development Specialist SpaceOAR Austria is responsible for the introduction and launch of an innovative disruptive new technology, the focus will be on introducing the technical benefits of the product, sales activities in your region in Austria and developing new accounts working in partnership with the market access team to strengthen our filing for acceptance and reimbursement of the product.

You are responsible for expanding the customer base and assist in training accounts and personnel to maximize their use and increase the utilization of the products (SpaceOAR).

This position is also responsible for practicing quality systems manual procedures and complying with its requirements.

You will be part of a new (international) team, you receive great support and will be active in a fast growing market segment.


Your responsibilities include

  • Identify new customers and present features and benefits of the SpaceOAR product and convert to a user.
  • Qualify and setup new accounts, ensuring they have proper equipment and facilities.
  • Train new appliers via internal certification process.
  • Maintain training and customer service with existing customers.
  • Report complaints/adverse events to the appropriate internal colleagues
  • Provide a monthly field report on activities, challenges and pipelines and also outline planning and scheduled events.
  • Grow the territory to its potential, by achieving and exceeding designated sales and account penetration targets for the Country.
  • Participate in the annual budgeting and forecasting process, working in close collaboration with the National Sales Manager.
  • Positively contributes as a key member of the sales team.
  • Drives top line sales growth and meet/exceed sales targets
  • Increase the number of institutions adopting our products


Who we are looking for

  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent thru experience
  • Experience in the medical/surgical field is preferred. Urology or Oncology experience would be a plus.
  • At least one (1) years’ experience in instructing surgeons on the use of new and novel treatments across all major surgical disciplines preferred.
  • Strong business acumen
  • Enthusiasm and drive, highly motivated and a self-starter
  • Track record of achievement and high performance in the sales field.
  • Proven track record in coaching /motivating and supporting peers and cross-functional colleagues.
  • International work experience viewed favorably.
  • Fluent German and English communication
  • Willingness to travel extensively. A minimum of 60% of your time
  • Knowledge of working in surgical (operating room) and clinical environments
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations associated with healthcare compliance.
  • Self-driven and result oriented approach to critically assess new medical technologies.
  • Ability to quickly assimilate and understand physician/clinical needs and interpret those in the context of the corporate direction, objectives, and strategies to develop new products.
  • Strong negotation skills
  • Diplomatic and capable of handling complex situations.
  • Ambitious and eager to develop yourself
