D&I ( Diversity and Inclusion) is a key priority at Boston Scientific and a value that we breath and live for. As the manager for the EMEA D&I program, you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating the D&I efforts of the region, as outlined below.

 

This role can be based in ANY Boston Scientific European hubs (UK-Hemel Hempstead, France-Paris, Italy-Milan, Spain-Madrid, Germany-Ratingen or Poland-Warsaw)

 

 

Responsibilities for supporting the EMEA D&I Strategy:

  • Lead the initiative through the transition from a project focus to a broad-based, ongoing initiative which will both raise awareness of D&I throughout the region and increase penetration of D&I efforts
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Assess the current strategy and program goals, and identify areas of opportunity which align to the needs of the region, utilizing feedback from key stakeholders to inform your assessment
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Develop a future 3-year roadmap and strategy for the EMEA D&I initiative 
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Investigate relevant research, topics of interest, and offerings (internal and external) which will have specific applicability to the EMEA region and can be leveraged to grow the knowledge base of the region in the inclusion space. Create useful content & materials as a result of this investigation.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Provide insight and review policies that impact the EMEA region
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Collaborate with the corporate self-ID team on conducting due diligence on country-specific privacy laws and regulations. Stay current on D&I trends and best practices for progressing an inclusive culture

Collaboration:

  • Manage and collaborate with the EMEA D&I Council. Identify & execute methods to increase facilitation between council members and across the region as local D&I pods are formed in various countries or clusters
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Work with the EMEA D&I Regional Core Team to deliver on planned activities and drive the success of the initiative
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Develop new relationships and leverage your existing network to generate an ongoing source of ideas which will support the initiative and participants working within the EMEA region
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Work closely with EMEA HR team to understand D&I employee data, assist in gleaning insights and progress towards KPI goals
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Work closely with the Global Inclusion & Engagement Team to stay aligned with the global BSC D&I goals and initiatives, and to facilitate a two-way communication and feedback mechanism

Communication:

  • Design and implement a communication strategy, plan, and tactics to promote the D&I initiative throughout EMEA and where applicable, globally
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Create or source material for multiple types of communications, especially in the multimedia space
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Create a calendar of events which can be populated by the event hosts and promoted to the region as a part of the communication plan
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Present periodic updates in multiple forums across the region – program goals, progress, upcoming activities, project launches, etc.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Provide key stakeholder updates to EMEA D&I Steering Committee, EMEA Senior Leadership Team, and EMEA Human Resources Leadership Team.  Other key stakeholder updates as needed.

Project Management:

  • Work with project leads and teams to complete remaining projects in the EMEA D&I portfolio
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Support business / function / country champions with the execution of action plans
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Create the next level of reporting mechanisms for champions and workstream leads as number of participants in the program grows

 

Measurement/ KPI : 

  • Identify relevant measures of success for program.  Set up any needed reporting system which will enable monitoring and tracking of metrics. Report measures and metrics as part of key stakeholder updates to EMEA Senior Leadership Team, EMEA D&I Steering Committee, and others as needed, on a recurring basis in order to measure progress, course correct  
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Identify any additional KPIs to monitor and report out on

 

Alignment:

  • Coordinate across the EMEA matrix in the D&I space to ensure that D&I activities remain aligned with strategic goals
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Coordinate the various pieces of the D&I initiative, regardless of which group owns which piece, to present a unified face of the program to the EMEA region and globally

 

Profile Requirements:

To be successful in this role you will ideally have:

  • Strong leadership and influencing skills with appropriate experience.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Strong passion for D&I and gained experience in driving D&I initiatives at local and/or regional level in an international environment
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Strong communication skills (oral, written and group sessions facilitation)
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Strong ability to work with and manage cross-cultural and virtual teams
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Passion for developing self and others
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Ability to interact effectively with all levels within the organization and with potential outside
    <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">vendors/consultants
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Strong knowledge of resource management.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Knowledge and experience of project and program management methodologies.
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Works autonomously and demonstrates ability to take responsibility
  • <span style="font-family:"Calibri",sans-serif">Results-oriented
