The Internal Communications Principal will develop innovative and impactful communications, designed to enhance employee engagement and tell the story of Boston Scientific as a leading healthcare company in Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA). This person will collaborate closely with internal partners across divisions, functions and countries within the region, as well as manage agencies and regional channels to deliver results.  This role will supervise a small team (1-2 people); reports to the EMEA Corporate Communications Manager and is based at one of our main European offices.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Develop Internal communication plan for EMEA Region that supports strong employee engagement, as well as alignment on regional and company goals and culture.
  • Manage the EMEA internal communications team and budget.
  • With a deep knowledge of the corporate story, ensure consistency of brand and message across all regional channels.
  • Source, develop and publish compelling stories about BSC, our values and our people.
  • Develop in conjunction with key stakeholders, quarterly key messages for the region; produce, manage approval process and dissemination to leadership group.
  • Support divisions, countries and functions in the planning of their respective internal communication plans to ensure alignment and continuous evoluttion of capabilities.
  • Manage internal communication channels by setting overall goals and editorial guidelines to ensure excellence in effective, 2-way communications.  Regularly review and make recommendations to evolve channels to ensure their continued relevance and effectivness.
  • Develop and mantain network of internal contributors to internal communication to ensure alignement on messages, company culture, and execution.
  • Evaluate impact of communications activities and proactively use insights to improve future campaigns / strengthen internal partnerships.
  • Serve as a communications counsel on strategic change projects and act as regional expert on all aspects of corporate communications, promoting best practice in all communications activities

 

What we are looking for:

 

  • Degree in communications or related discipline
  • Fluency in English essential, other European languages highly desirable
  • Excellent written, oral and visual communication skills
  • Experience of managing a small team desirable.
  • Broad experience of managing complex communications environment, ideally pan-European/regional experience
  • Experience of healthcare or regulated B2B environment desirable
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
  • Demonstrated success at working under deadlines with excellent follow-through skills
  • Located at one of our hub offices (Ratingen, Germany; Paris, France; Hemel Hempstead, UK)
  • 20-30% travel is anticipated with this role, mainly within European region to Boston Scientific offices.
