Purpose Statement

The Market Development Manager is a high-level, field-based role committed to help achieving business objectives for the Endoscopy division through focused development and engagement of key opinion leaders (KOLs).
Taking a customer focused, clinically-orientated approach, the MDM team bring value to the organisation (directly or indirectly) by enabling the achievement of both upstream and downstream business objectives also ensuring the sharing of clinical knowledge within the organization.

Key Responsibilities
Annual Franchise Plan development
• Provide Market Development GMM with relevant input/insights for the Annual franchise development together with Education Manager.
Franchise AOP Development and execution
• Work closely with EQH PMs, Education Manager and Market Development GMM to design specific initiatives.
• Facilitate information flows between EHQ and Country; integrate Country feedback in the Franchise AOP.
• Execute on strategies to accelerate clinical uptake of new clinical techniques and technologies that benefit patient care:
o Partner with Education Manager and Multichannel to deliver on customer education programs (e.g. faculty preparation and management);
o Facilitate expert groups and clinical networks to drive sharing of best practice;
o Engage with clinical stakeholder groups beyond the endoscopy suite (e.g. surgeons, pathologists) to develop relevant programs that support the uptake of new clinical techniques and technologies.
Portfolio Upstream / New product launch
• Identify and highlight early opportunities and novel technologies that meet with BSC strategic objective, appropriately partner with Global organisation to engage KOL in exploratory discussions and early stage prototype evaluations.
• Partner with Product Marketing colleagues to gather KOL feedback, validate assumptions and support the definition of customer targeting, segmentation and message definition for pre-launch assessment. Identify and define requirements for market development programs to support the introduction of new technologies. Share procedural knowledge across work streams.
• Engage KOLs in pre-launch activities (may include participation in expert meetings, pre-launch product evaluations, collection of specific voice of customer feedback, preparation and delivery of sales force training activities).
Customer – KOL engagement
• Work in close partnership with local sales organisation (both NSM and TM):
o Balance portfolio of existing BSC KOL accounts and non-BSC accounts;
o Coordinate KOL segmentation, assign KOL owner (if necessary) and coordinate visit planning to avoid overlapping;
o Ensure continuous update of KOL profile on Sales Cloud.
• Ensure regular face-to-face contact to build and maintain KOLs network targeting multiple functional experts within the account (e.g. endoscopies, surgeons, nurses, pathologists); engage KOLs to evaluate and communicate full range of product indications and utility and collect relevant customer insights.
• Cooperate closely with Management Teams within the area of geographical responsibility:
o Identify opportunities to enable the achievement of business objectives through effective KOL engagement and leverage;
o Develop and execute on bespoke market development programs to meet specific local needs;
o Define and measure objectives in agreement with local management.


• Ensure effective monitoring of Marketing initiatives implementation aligning with Market Development GMM and Education Manager; execute new initiatives according to established plans.



- Proven successful experience in surgical background 

- Ideal previous experience in Marketing or Regional Sales or Key Account Manager

- Fluency in English and French

- Market excellence and customer insight

- Effective external stakeholder management, building and maintaining relationships with KOLs

- Team spirit, collaboration and matrix environment knowledge


This role covers French & Belgium markets. Frequent travels are needed.
