The key elements of this strategy are:

  1. Coordinated Sales and Marketing plans
  2. Tools and processes and organizational design needed to enable the defined strategy
  3. Measurement and reporting design

The Program Manager role is focused on driving the coordination of multiple projects. It is responsible for integrated communication related to the initiatives with alignment across divisions and functions, executing on regional projects ensuring appropriate measurement and reporting to track progress.

Technology projects at BSC are delivered through the Agile framework specifically the Scrum methodology.  This role requires hands-on involvement as the Product Owner (the how and when) taking strategic direction from the Product Manager (the why and what). 

The role has responsibility for financial planning for the team; such as discretionary and travel budget allocation, spend tracking and corrective action implementation.

It is also a technical expert role to identify, propose, own and lead all technology projects that enable defined strategies. It will support the project execution of change management for adoption of the new processes and technologies in the organization.

Divisional strategy and execution sit within each respective division, including the management of sales and marketing resources. This role will collaborate very closely with the Information Systems department to identify and develop the technologies required to deliver the business divisions strategies. 

Location: Any Boston Scientific main hubs (Hemel Hempstead, Voisins-le-Bretonneux, Ratingen, Warsaw, Milan, Madrid)


Key Responsibilities

Program management

  • Prepare and present all updates for leadership, team, divisional stakeholders, external vendors and other functions through weekly divisional calls and monthly Project Advisory Boards
  • Manage the end-to-end governance process for the team
  • Ensure there is a consistent approach and methodology established for program and project management with best-practice tools and processes
  • Own and update the RACI matrix and the RAID log and ensure timely reminders to the team and its stakeholders and vendors
  • Regularly review progress to check if the project management methodology is being correctly used
  • Develops new and enhances existing tools and templates to be leveraged by the team and business divisions
  • Coordinate the planning and execution of team-wide meetings


Financial planning

  • Responsible for the creation of business cases to successfully secure project funding
  • Monitors the forecast versus actual financial returns on projects and reports these monthly to stakeholders
  • Responsibility for the tracking of discretionary spends tracking and corrective actions


Product ownership responsibility

  • Lead requirements gathering
  • Document story details
  • Consult with business and development stakeholders
  • Attend scrum meetings, demonstrations, stand-ups and retrospectives
  • Lead backlog grooming to decompose/estimate stories
  • Create mock-ups and User Experience designs
  • Answer questions from developers, clarifies requirements
  • Document new feature for implementations and release notes


Collaboration with Product Manager role

  • Provides input to the vision and roadmap
  • Jointly creates personas, release planning, acceptance criteria
  • Demonstrate latest iteration to customers (pre-release) and gather feedback


Business intelligence and technology expert

  • Own the business requirement gathering in alignment with annual Key Performance Indicators set by the business divisions
  • Design solutions to capture operationalize metrics for marketing and sales projects to monitor success and recommend corrective actions as appropriate
  • Provide a bridge to translate business language and technical language to ensure consistence clear understanding between the business divisions and Information Systems department
  • Support technology integration and data management
  • Work in close coordination with the Information Systems department and global project teams to roll out technology project implementations smoothly


Required Knowledge & Experience:


  • Minimum 5 years project and program management experience
  • Minimum 3 years of experience digital transformation projects
  • Minimum 5-8 years of experience leading technology implementation projects
  • Minimum 3-5 years of change management experience and knowledge with the ability to bring others through change by influencing others and leveraging proper change management tools
  • Ability to drive for results and be tenacious
  • Ability to think strategically and then operate with a strong execution focus
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects concurrently
  • Business consulting experience a strong positive
  • Must have previously worked with a cross - European project or team
  • Experience of working across different cultures in an organisational matrix
  • Strong cross-stakeholder management skills are vital for this role
  • Must be comfortable working in an ambiguous environment, taking ideas from concept through to execution
  • Must be able to set a vision, communicate clearly, show understanding of operational challenges and provide creative solutions to overcome obstacles
  • Expert in vendor management and coordination

  • Confident presentation skills
  • Workshop management expertise – design and conduct cross-functional workshops
  • Essential expertise Salesforce ecosystem, Sales Cloud, Marketing Cloud, Communities Cloud
  • Thorough knowledge of CRM systems, digital platforms, reporting solutions and analytical tools
  • Advantageous project management certification, or Six Sigma certifications
