Purpose Statement
The purpose of this role is to provide strong leadership to the recently created EDUCRE COE organization to meet business objectives and in conformance with EMEA Med Ed Strategy. Demonstrates proven capability to manage multiple project teams to complete project milestones and drive value improvement efforts for the COE. Project size will range from small one-off activities to large program activities. Works with COE teams and divisional management to resolve technical, logistical, resource and team interaction problems. Devises new approaches to problems encountered. Work is planned and performed with minimal general instructions as to the objectives expected.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and validate the resources required for assigned project activities and form teams as required to complete the activities.
- Identify and coordinate all activities required to complete the project or task through the team.
- Ensure timely project completion ensuring current policies and practices are followed and keeping accurate documentation.
- Lead team effectively, ensuring good cross-functional communications and providing input to functional and Divisional managers on team and team member performance.
- Develop high-level plans and schedules for larger projects. Many of the projects will surface as unplanned activities, thereby requiring constant prioritization and workload adjustments.
- Identify, communicate, and manage moderate levels of technical risk.
- Delegate and manage tasks among team members as appropriate to their skill level and risk to the project.
- Communicate and present project/project status to senior management and key project stakeholders as appropriate.
- Recognize when team has reached limits of internal capabilities and expertise and recommend alternatives.
- Elevate issues and clear barriers to team progress. Quickly resolve conflicts and involve functional management as required.
- Manage multiple projects in parallel as necessary.
- Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvement that supports BSC’s Quality Policy, Quality System, and the appropriate regulations for the area they support. Ensure employees are trained to do their work and their training is documented.
Required Knowledge & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree plus 7-9 years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and work experience. Advanced degree preferred.
- Complex Project and Program Management experience of at least 5 years (Preferred med device)
- Proven ability to coach, mentor and lead others in project and program management arena
- Strong understanding of Change Management practises with excellent interpersonal skills and emotional intelligence.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Management of a portfolio of programs / products at a strategic level
- Strong experience interacting with internal and external end customers and ability to work in a matrix organization
- Engineering background and experience in medical devices industry
- Experience with communication and influencing at the highest levels of management across a cross-functional and global organization.
