The Social Media Principal will effectively advance Boston Scientific’s presence in the region as a leading global health care company on social media and digital channels. She/he will develop and implement social media strategies that align with overarching business objectives across existing and new social media platforms, and be responsible for content development and community management for Boston Scientific’s corporate social media channels. She/he will also support the company’s employee advocacy program, including content development, training and reporting.

 

This role is designed to manage Boston Scientific’s EMEA corporate presence and reputation on social media, and to provide a common voice and persona aligned with the company’s brand across all channels. This individual will report to the Senior Manager Communications EMEA, and partner closely with the communications team members  , regionally and globally , as well as marketing,  branding and digital teams.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and execute channel and content strategies for EMEA corporate social media channels.
  • Integrate social media into corporate  communications strategies, ensuring alignment to and in support of business priorities and objectives.
  • Develop editorial calendar and content for existing social media channels while serving as community manager for BSC EMEA social media handles , Twitter, and LinkedIn activities  and YouTube channels. Secure necessary content approvals and publish/schedule using social content management system.
  • Regularly monitor social media channels and respond in a timely fashion to drive online engagement and maintain compliance. Assist in real-time monitoring and reporting on reputational concerns or issues.
  • Optimize the EMEA corporate social media strategy on an ongoing basis, including researching, advocating for, and launching new social media programs/platforms.
  • Support EMEA business in developing divisional social media strategy by acting as a consultant and setting up governance and training . May assist in strategy development and real-time monitoring for specific projects and to launch initiatives
  • Help manage Boston Scientific’s employee advocacy program, including managing and developing content, partnering with other content contributors, training new users and devising strategies for keeping users engaged.
  • Responsible for analytics and reporting for corporate social channels, employee advocacy program and other ad-hoc reporting as needed.

 

What we are looking for:

  • The successful candidate will be accomplished social media or communications professional with broad experience within a corporate or agency environment, preferably in health care, with an avid interest in and demonstrated knowledge of social media, including strategy, content development and community management.
  • Experience with enterprise social media tools for publishing, monitoring, listening and employee advocacy highly desired.
  • Exceptional writer and storyteller, with experience in writing for traditional, online and social media. In-depth understanding of target audiences, expertise in high-impact messaging to broad audiences.
  • Solid understanding and familiarity with new and emerging communications tools and digital channels.
  • Experience in developing and executing strategic communications plans and correlating metrics, utilizing both media relations and social media tactics.
  • Business acumen and fluency in topical health care news and industry trends  a major plus .
  • Ability to distill complex information into compelling and simple terms, with an understanding of public perception and issues as they pertain to the industry and the regulated healthcare environment.
  • Experience in working with compliance, legal and regulatory on challenges impacting the company's image and reputation highly desired.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with a demonstrated ability to work well within a matrix organization and to influence teams to accomplish common goals and objectives.
  • Thoughtful, strategic and without fear of recommending innovative approaches.
  • Ability to work well under pressure, with demonstrated success at working under deadlines with tight timeframes.
  • Effective relationship building skills and ability to work in a collaborative environment.
  • B.A. in communications, journalism or related field.
  • English native or equal , a second European language a major plus  
  • This position has the option to be located in one of the Boston Scientific EMEA office hubs ( Paris , Milan, Madrid, London , Dusseldorf)
