About this role:
Boston Scientific is seeking a senior-level Full Stack Engineer to enhance and evolve our custom Portfolio Planning application — a critical platform within our enterprise ecosystem that supports clinical and strategic investment decisions.
This role requires strong technical depth combined with business domain understanding. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with large, complex data sets, understands portfolio planning concepts, and can build scalable, reliable applications used by cross-functional stakeholders in a clinical and regulated environment.
This is a platform ownership role focused on long-term capability, performance, and scalability.

Your responsibilities will include:
- Design, build, and enhance a mission-critical portfolio planning application across frontend and backend layers.
- Develop scalable APIs and services that process and surface large clinical and operational data sets.
- Translate portfolio planning and clinical trial requirements into well-architected technical solutions.
- Optimize performance and reliability for complex data queries and analytics-driven workflows.
- Partner with portfolio strategy, clinical, and data teams to ensure alignment between business needs and technical design.
- Improve data modeling, system integrations, and reporting capabilities within the platform.
- Ensure application quality through testing, monitoring, and sound engineering practices.
- Proactively question and validate requirements to surface underlying assumptions, ensuring technical decisions are grounded in sound engineering principles.
- Collaborate within an Agile environment to continuously improve the platform and its impact on the organization.
Required qualifications:
- A minimum of a bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
- 10+ years of experience in full stack software engineering.
- Strong frontend experience (Angular preferred; experience with modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks required).
- Strong backend development experience (Node.js, Python, or similar technologies).
- Advanced SQL skills and experience working with large relational data sets.
- Experience designing data models and optimizing queries for performance.
- Experience building enterprise-grade, business-critical applications.
- Strong understanding of API design and system integrations.
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience with integrating with portfolio planning systems (e.g., Planisware or similar platforms).
- Experience working with clinical trial or regulated healthcare data.
- AWS experience (Lambda, S3, RDS/PostgreSQL, event-driven architectures).
- Experience working within Agile product teams.
- Strong collaboration and communication skills across technical and business stakeholders.
