The Project Management Supervisor will be responsible for leading the execution of Sustaining Engineering (SE) projects and related work stream activities for medical device products within the Electrophysiology division. Project activities include all product support activities from first launch to the end of product life for multiple products.
Project size will range from small one-off tasks to more complex design changes. The Project Management Supervisor, using cross–functional team members from R&D, Design Assurance, Packaging, Labeling, Regulatory, and Operations, will simultaneously handle multiple projects (10-15) of various sizes.
About the role:
- A Project Management Supervisor is a leader of projects and programs within the EP Project Management group
- The scope of projects may include activities from initial product development to the end of product life across business units and manufacturing sites
- This PM role will be focused on both hardware and firmware support for the SMARTFREEZE Cryoablation Console and hardware support for the Rhythmia Mapping System.
- Success in the role requires a focus on capturing the opportunities from across the various functions, creating a cohesive strategy for project execution and driving execution to ensure project completion
- Project size will range from small one-off tasks to large process improvement, design change, line extension activities, design transfers and projects driving global productivity and commercialization
- Multiple projects will be handled simultaneously with cross-functional team members from R&D, Design Assurance, Packaging, Regulatory, Operations, Supplier Development, Supply Chain and Clinical
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships are required for this role

At Boston Scientific, we value collaboration and synergy. This role follows a hybrid work model requiring employees to be in our Waltham, MA office at least three days per week.

Key Responsibilities
- Provide input to resource needs and prioritization
- Generate high-level plans, communications, and schedules on larger projects
- Identify and coordinate activities required to complete the project or task through the team
- Ensure timely completion of activities ensuring policies and practices are followed and accurate documentation is kept
- Effectively lead team ensuring good cross-functional communications and provide input to functional managers on team and team member performance
- Create and manage individual project budgets
- Identify, communicate, and manage moderate levels of technical risk
- Delegate and manage tasks among team members as appropriate to their skill level and risk to the project
- Identify and clear barriers or appropriately escalate so the team can progress
- Resolve conflicts with team members and involve functional management as required to ensure timely project completion
- Make occasional presentations to upper management
Required Qualifications:
- 2+ years of relevant project leadership experience in R&D or Operations either leading projects or as a team member leading significant segments of projects
- 4-year Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in engineering
- Strong organization and execution skills will be required, as well as a demonstrated ability to confidently handle the top responsibility for project completion
Preferred Qualifications and Competencies:
- Experience in both pre-launch and post launch product support activities preferred, with the most emphasis placed on post launch work. Broad product knowledge across multiple franchises is preferred over individual product expertise
- Experience in managing multiple projects concurrently
- Knowledge of regulatory standards and a deep understanding of internal SOPs is a plus
- PMP certification a plus
