Accountant I 

Workplace: Warsaw

 

Role Purpose:

 

Performs a variety of complex duties in general accounting such as analyzing accounts, preparing reports, reconciling accounts, and performing the monthly financial close and consolidation, external and internal reporting, monitoring SOX/internal control requirements, support audits, maintain fixed assets and CIP, and maintaining & performing software interfaces with SAP, Hyperion, Cadency. Measures performance against key performance indicators, and continually identifies ways to improve and streamline processes. 

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute month/quarter/year-end Close processes to ensure timely and accurate Close and financial reports preparation 
  • Oversee financial and accounting process and work closely together with finance teams and GBS teams, with a high focus on controlling balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries
  • Optimize current financial accounting process in coordination with stakeholders 
    Comply with KPI’s and OPIs as defined by GBS 
  • Drive compliance in all finance-related matters and ensure compliance with Corporate and local policies, statutory requirements and GAAP principles 
  • Support internal and external audits and audit-related accounting matters (SOX, CA&C) 
  • Apply LEAN methodologies to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of financial processes 
  • Participate in implementing quality requirements in all aspects of the financial process 
  • Identify and implement process improvement and standardisation 
  • Ensure all activities comply with legal demands, ethical standards and the Internal Quality
  • Management System 

 

 Requirements:

  • Bachelor Financial accounting or Business Economics 
  • 1-3 years similar experience 
  • Fluency in English, additional language capabilities are a plus 
  • SAP experience. Hyperion and Cadency experience will be an additional asset 
  • Strong verbal & written communication skills and focus on building relationships 
  • Self-motivated yet team player 
  • Change agent that focuses on a high level of quality 
  • Continuous Improvement attitude
