About the role:

 

As Arden Hills Process Development, we advance new products, processes, and technologies across one or more Boston Scientific divisions. We deliver robust, scalable, high-quality manufacturing processes to divisional and operations customers. As a leader on this team, you will provide strategic input into departmental, divisional, and BSC plant network initiatives. You will be tasked with building, developing, and empowering a strong team capable of fulfilling multi-project and multi-customer needs for the business. And you will focus on building effective partnerships across functions and geographic locations to drive successful execution of key programs.

 

In this role, your specific responsibilities will be to lead a team which is primarily focused on the development and sustainment of manufacturing technology and processes which can be applied and scaled across multiple products and manufacturing lines.  This team will partner with the teams focused on divisional products to provide the technologies, processes, subject matter expertise required to enable and sustain those products.

  • Functional Excellence:  Process Development
    • Establishes 1 to 3 year strategies for growth, staffing needs, and team structures
    • Leads engineering teams to develop highly capable, scalable, and robust manufacturing processes, and successfully transfer into operations.
    • Establishes goals for process capability, manufacturing yield, COGS, and other key metrics
    • Collaborates with R&D and MFG teams to create innovative and manufacturable product designs
    • Owns one or more departmental business processes (e.g. annual operating plan, talent management system, campus recruiting, department communications, etc)
    • Leads organizational development and change through leadership of one or more long-term department growth, change, or continuous improvement strategies
  • Project Management
    • Aligns team’s objectives with cross-functional stakeholders and customers
    • Works internally to ensure team is aligned with milestones
    • Empowers technical leaders within team to create plans and lead technical workstreams
    • Reliably delivers on-time, on-budget project completion
  • Financial Responsibilities
    • Owns budget for team’s cost center, including headcount, cash, and capital expenses
    • Proactively tracks budget adherence and communicates variance to stakeholders
    • Ensures complete and accurate time tracking of team members
  • Compliance
    • Supports Boston Scientific’s Quality Policy and Quality System
    • Ensures compliance with policies and procedures of Boston Scientific and regulatory bodies
    • Ensures all employees are trained and that training is documented
  • Travel Requirements
    • Occasional travel to support internal Boston Scientific customers and to interface with external vendors and partners
    • Up to 10% to 15% travel, including occasional international travel.

 

Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline and 7+ Years related work experience; or Master’s Degree 5+ Years of related experience
    • Proven leadership and/or management of a technical group providing coaching and development. Effective in building and leading high-performance teams.
    • Team oriented approach to projects that drives collaboration & execution across the business
  • Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience leading teams in developing and transferring MFG processes and/or production lines
    • Track record of developing new technologies and processes that excite customers
    • Working knowledge of BSC therapies and products
    • Experience working on development programs that span a wide range of functional and geographical reach. Previous experience working with international teams preferred.
