Operations Project Manager


 

Purpose Statement

Support Ops. related projects and tasks involving departmental or cross-functional teams focused on the support of Operations throughout the site.

 

 

Key Responsibilities & Scope

  • Lead cross functional, Ops. related projects.
  • Estimates project levels of effort and resource requirements by using standard estimating techniques and tools, and by working with appropriate staff to understand scope of effort.
  • Prepares project plans, schedules, and budgets by using project management tools.
  • Directs project execution by assigning tasks, tracking project schedules, identifying risks, and developing and executing contingency plans.
  • Communicates project status by preparing standard status reports, and by participating in departmental and customer project status update meetings.
  • Providing operational oversight for project execution, including schedule adherence, budget compliance, and risk assessment
  • Creating reporting mechanism and tracking methodology
  • Support the R&D transfer to production processes.
  • Requires in-depth conceptual, practical and technical and/or functional knowledge of principles and theories in own job function and general understanding of related job functions.
  • Works independently guided by company policies, guidelines and procedures, receiving guidance on complex and unprecedented problems.
  • Regularly participates in discussions and presentations in small, cross-functional meetings, logically presenting information to convey key messages.

 

Minimum Education and Experience (or Equivalent):

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering, IT or Business). 
  • 5+ years of experience working and leading project initiatives.
  • Prior experience leading cross-functional projects with comfort managing and working with teams both in-person and virtually.
  • 5+ years of business experience using a full life-cycle project management methodology (Waterfall, Agile, SCRUM, etc), including the application of change management principles (Kotter)
  • Business experience demonstrated through business knowledge, leadership skills and product / process development capabilities.
  • Working knowledge in regulated medical device / pharmaceutical industry an advantage.
  • Functional knowledge of the order to cash business processes is an asset.
