About the Role as Sales Manager Urology- Switzerland

 

The core objective of this role is to support the Business Unit Director Urology CWC (BUD) in achieving the goals and objectives of the business by leading a high-performing national sales team. You will create, direct, and execute sales strategies for the Boston Scientific Urology portfolio within the country, assuming full accountability for sales and business performance.

You will drive effective implementation of sales plans aligned with corporate and regional strategy, ensuring strong product positioning, market penetration, accurate forecasting, and sales excellence. Success in this role requires dynamic leadership, deep market insight, and a strong focus on coaching and developing your team.

 

Your Responsibilities Include:

 

Industry Knowledge

·        Provide continuous education and tools to the team to ensure up-to-date knowledge of industry trends, competitor activities, and product advancements.

·        Maintain a clear view of national healthcare dynamics, regularly engaging with physicians, stakeholders, and partners to inform and refine sales strategies.

·        Gather and communicate competitive intelligence to proactively support marketing and sales alignment.

Business Management & Sales Execution

·        Prepare the Annual Operating Plan (AOP) for the country in alignment with divisional priorities. Ensure the plan is both ambitious and realistic, reflects local market opportunities and challenges, and is agreed upon with the BUD.

·        Conduct regular Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs) with the team and BUD to monitor forecast accuracy, identify gaps, and define action plans.

·        Recommend and support the implementation of promotional programs and materials aligned with business objectives and marketing strategy.

·        Ensure effective territory management and account targeting across therapy areas.

·        Demonstrate strong selling skills in customer engagements while empowering the team to lead the sales process.

·        Actively support corporate and divisional initiatives through training and field implementation.

Market Insight

·        Understand national healthcare policies, reimbursement frameworks, pricing strategies, and evolving economic customer needs.

·        Recommend effective pricing strategies for the country in alignment with the overall pricing guidelines of the Urology division in the region.

·        Analyze the competitive landscape to identify opportunities and strengthen BSC’s positioning in the market.

·        Leverage this insight to inform decision-making and growth strategies at the country level.

Building & Maintaining Relationships

·        Maintain relationships with GPOs, major accounts, and key stakeholders to leverage them into profitable and sustainable business opportunities.

·        Lead negotiations on large deals with customers and GPOs related to the Urology portfolio, ensuring alignment with commercial strategy and value-based positioning.

·        Define negotiation parameters for economically constrained customer situations.

·        Support key customers in developing, expanding, and maintaining educational forums and courses.

·        Represent Boston Scientific at relevant customer, company, and industry events.

·        Collaborate effectively across BSC functions to ensure integrated account planning and execution.

Clinical Excellence

·        Maintain comprehensive understanding of the full urology product portfolio and support the team in developing clinical credibility with customers.

·        Collaborate with HEMA, HS&P, and Marketing to drive strategic initiatives, including product launches and innovative business practices.

Creative Economic & Value-Add Solutions

·        Develop strong relationships with economic buyers in key national accounts.

·        Collaborate with peers in the Cluster Leadership Team and HS&P on contract negotiations and value-based solutions.

·        Guide your team in creating compelling product and service bundles tailored to specific customer needs.

·        Evaluate business opportunities from both account and national business perspectives.

Quality & Compliance

·        Ensure full compliance with Boston Scientific’s Quality System (Corporate Quality Manual and Procedures) and local regulatory requirements.

·        Promote quality awareness throughout the team, driving customer-oriented continuous improvement.

·        Provide input to the Quality Committee on local compliance issues and contribute to Management Review of Quality meetings.

People Development

·        Spend significant time in the field to support team development and strengthen customer relationships.

·        Collaborate with the BUD to provide regular feedback, coaching, and support in defining and achieving development goals.

·        Monitor individual performance, implement corrective actions when needed, and recognize successes.

·        Share personal best practices and selling experiences in a way that inspires and develops team capabilities.

CRM & Commercial Tools

·        Ensure the team is fully trained on the Company’s CRM system (Sales Cloud) and uses it consistently for recording customer information and commercial activities.

 

Who are we looking for:

 

  •        10+ years of experience in Medical Device industry sales experience, with proven success, network into key hospitals and GPO's.
