Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated Distribution / Materials Supervisor on a defined-term (23-month) basis to join our team.

 

 

Job Purpose:

The Distribution / Materials Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the distribution function, ensuring efficient, safe, and accurate handling of goods. This role focuses on coordinating staff, maintaining service levels, and driving continuous improvement within the warehouse and distribution processes.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  •  Manage staff rotas, attendance, and performance reviews.  
  • Supervise day-to-day distribution and warehouse activities, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.  
  • Lead, coach, and motivate a team of warehouse operatives to achieve productivity and performance targets.  
  • Ensure orders are processed accurately and delivered on time to meet customer expectations.  
  • Monitor inventory levels and support stock control processes, and audits.  
  • Interacts with internal and external customers, by meeting regularly, responding to requests and explaining procedures. 
  • Maintain compliance with health & safety regulations and company policies.  
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs.  
  • Liaise with transport, customer service, and other departments to ensure smooth operations.  
  • Investigate and resolve operational issues, discrepancies, or customer complaints.  
  • May perform individual contributor tasks.

 

Education & Experience:

  • Honours Bachelor Degree (Level 8) in a Business/Engineering or other related discipline. 
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
  • Good problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Strong communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, an innate ability to influence and build relationships at all levels and a driving vision to create an inclusive culture of performance, continuous improvement and development. 
  • Must be a pro-active self-starter and an excellent communicator with exceptional problem-solving skills.
