Job Purpose

 

Responsible for the implementation of business improvement in the Manufacturing / Supply Chain environment through the deployment of Lean Principles, Systems and Tools. The employee will be required to create strong relationships with team members internal and external to Boston Scientific, to improve all aspects of business performance aligned with Global and Site Strategies.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Performs times studies and work analysis to identify improvement opportunities. Develops and executes improvement projects from concept to completion, for the production unit and operational excellence team.
  • Responsible for capacity analysis for assigned production unit / value stream.
  • Applying technical skills in Capacity & Headcount planning, Variation Tracking, Continuous Improvement, Standard Work, Line Balancing, 5S, Value Stream Mapping. Pareto Analysis, Problem Solving, Process Improvement, Time Studies, Layout and Workstation Design.
  • Provides training and mentoring support on lean tools.
  • Leads and participates in Problem Solving & Process Improvement Road Maps.
  • Works cross functionally on new product Terms & Conditions implementation.
  • Lead and facilitate Kaizen Events to achieve area goals through waste elimination.
  • Confident in presenting and influencing management using relevant data and metrics
  • Accurately sets engineering time standards per policy.
  • Leads and supports cost avoidance and cash VIPs.
  • Designs & executes area layouts using CAD to optimize manufacturing / supply chain space.
  • Responsible for workstation / storage design, procurement and implementation.

 

Education & Experience

 

  • Level 8 Honors degree qualified in a STEM discipline or equivalent education.
  • Proven experience in Continuous Improvement and expertise in Lean Tools within an operational environment.
  • Experience in Change Management and/or Project Management a distinct advantage
  • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes cGMP, industry regulations, process development and new product introduction.
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent a distinct advantage.
  • Strong analytical skills and systematic problem-solving skills with the ability to present complex data (e.g. Minitab, Excel) to all levels of management / leadership.
  • Autocad/Draftsight CAD Layout drawing experience is an advantage.
