We are seeking a Project Management Specialist on a permanent basis to join our team.

Job Purpose:

 

The individual will be responsible for the development, prioritization, resourcing, and management of site projects. This role leads the implementation of key site programs by leveraging project management tools and best practices, and through effective indirect management of cross-functional teams and stakeholders. The position proactively coordinates with quality, engineering, and supply chain teams to facilitate priorities and drive improvements needed to support business goals and objectives.

A key aspect of this role is serving as the main interface for cross-functional programs, collaborating closely with planning, operations, and distribution stakeholders.

Additionally, the individual will work with global teams on sustaining activities, new product introductions, and global projects. The role will also contribute to site strategic projects, ensuring alignment with broader organizational objectives and supporting the successful execution of both local and global initiatives.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Project Management:

    • Manages key initiating, planning, executing, controlling, and closing processes; develops and implements project plan; builds team ownership and commitment to project plan.
    • Estimates project levels of effort and resource requirements by using standard estimating techniques and tools, and by working with appropriate staff to understand scope of effort.
    • Prepares project plans, schedules by using project management tools such as Microsoft Project/Office timeline and by working with appropriate staff to understand tasks necessary to complete project.
    • Directs project execution by assigning tasks, tracking project schedules, identifying risk.  Identifies and manages project dependencies and critical path items while ensuring project quality and utilizing and following appropriate methodologies.
    • Communicates project status by preparing standard status reports, and by participating in departmental and Global project status update meetings.
    • Participates in external project management organizations, conferences and seminars to keep current with industry best practices in project management by joining professional associations and implementing a professional development plan with focus on project management.

Project Lead: Manages medium-sized (occasionally multi-site) cross-functional development teams; leads teams effectively; provides input to functional managers on team and team member performance.

Site PMO/Project Portfolio management: Oversees development, prioritization, resourcing, and status/tracking of site cross functional programs.  Acts as liaison with other functions/sities.

Communications and Reviews: Responsible for team and cross-functional communications; leads phase and business reviews, project meeting minutes, issues log, metrics, and other key communications.

 

Education & Experience:

 

Minimum Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s Hons degree in related field. 
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience.
  • Project management experience managing project scope, schedule and budget, and ability to balance multiple priorities.
  • Strong cross-functional communication, team building, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Candidate must be comfortable communicating and/or presenting in front of all levels of the organization.
  • Results-oriented, positive attitude focused on delivering timely, accurate and best in class execution.

 

Desirable Skill

 

  • Proficiency in MS Project/Office Timeline or other relevant tools
