We are seeking a R&D Engineer III on a permanent basis to join our team.
Job Purpose:
Boston Scientific Neuromodulation technologies help patients manage chronic pain and neurological conditions. Our solutions include WaveWriter Alpha™ Spinal Cord Stimulator (SCS) Systems to treat chronic pain and Vercise Genus™ Deep Brain Stimulation Systems to treat movement disorders such as Parkinson’s disease.

You will play a key role focusing on project assignments that drive the innovation and commercialization of complex medical device assemblies. You will work with a talented cross-disciplinary team to support both new and existing products.
Key Responsibilities:
Support new product development (NPD) from concept through design, prototyping, testing, and validation
· Support the development of specifications and perform engineering analyses
· Design for cost-effective manufacturability
· Support engineering builds and verify product performance.
· Support sustaining engineering activities and projects, including root cause analysis, failure investigation, and product improvements
· Application of mechanical design principles
Provide integration support, ensuring compatibility between systems and performing gap analysis between BSC and new business unit’s product life cycle.
· Deliver designs that meet goals such as performance, standards, manufacturability, reliability, and cost.
· Generate regulatory audit worthy design and risk management documentation
· Maintaining product quality, safety and compliance in accordance with all regulations governing the quality systems
· Supports Design Transfer activities from New Product R&D to Sustaining Engineering and Production.
· Collaborates cross-functionally to identify and support the resolution of technical issues.
· Support corporate strategic projects.
· Supports change management including Process, Design and New Product Introduction.
· Develops and implements design and risk management documentation in compliance with QSR and GMP and in alignment with the cross-functional team.
Education & Experience:
· Hons bachelor’s degree in engineering or other related technical field or equivalent experience.
· Minimum 3 year’s mechanical engineering industry experience, preferably within the Med Tech Sector with hands on design controls experience, or minimum 2 years with Masters in Mechanical Engineering
· Demonstrate broad knowledge of design controls and risk management
· Hands-on experience utilizing SolidWorks 3D CAD and drafting standards (e.g., ANSI Y14.5)
· Strong understanding of GD&T, hands on experience preferred
· Test method development and validation.
· Excellent organizational, communication, and collaborative skills.
