Job Purpose:
Join Boston Scientific’s Galway Operations Project Management team as an Operations Technical Project Manager, where you will play a key role in delivering strategic programs that shape the future of our site and global operations network. In this role, you will gain immediate exposure to high-impact initiatives such as new product introductions, site transfers, and global strategic programs. You will collaborate across global functions, build strong leadership visibility, and accelerate your career through meaningful, large-scale project experience. Key Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end project management activities, including initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, and closeout, ensuring alignment to business objectives.
- Develop comprehensive project plans, timelines, and budgets using standard project management tools and methodologies.
- Define resource requirements and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure effective execution.
- Drive project execution by assigning tasks, tracking milestones, identifying risks, and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Manage project dependencies and critical path activities while ensuring adherence to quality and governance standards, including GSM where applicable.
- Communicate project status, risks, and key updates to stakeholders and senior leadership through structured reporting and reviews.
- Lead cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration, accountability, and high performance across multiple functions and, at times, multiple sites.
- Influence without authority, building alignment across R&D, PD, regulatory, supply chain, quality, and commercial teams.
- Support site portfolio management activities, including prioritization, resourcing, and progress tracking of strategic programs.
- Facilitate key project governance activities, including phase reviews, business reviews, and stakeholder communications.
- Capture and share lessons learned to continuously improve project execution and organizational effectiveness.
- Lead internal department business process improvement projects and organisational development initiatives.
- Contribute to the broader project management community by applying best practices and pursuing ongoing professional development.
Education & Experience:
Required qualifications:
- Level 8 honours Bachelor degree in engineering, science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 6 years' experience with progressive technical leadership and/or managerial responsibilities.
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in project lead or project management roles within operations, supplier engineering, equipment engineering, new product development, process development, external operations or acquisition & integration.
- Demonstrated experience leading medium-to-large scale, cross-functional projects across global teams or multiple sites.
- Proven ability to lead through change, influence stakeholders, and deliver results in complex environments.
- Strong leadership, communication, and presentation skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders.
- Experience in team leadership, collaboration, and cross-functional partnership.
Preferred qualifications:
- Formal project management certification (e.g., PMP or equivalent).
- Experience working on global or strategic transfer programs.
- Familiarity with medical device or regulated industry environments.
