Boston Scientific is seeking a highly motivated experienced R&D Engineer on a permanent basis to join our team.

 

 

Job Purpose:

You will support projects of moderate complexity across the Galway manufactured Endoscopy metal stent portfolio. Operating under limited supervision/guidance shall compile, analyse, and report test data to support design changes resultant from regulatory compliance, quality and supply chain updates. Creates and maintains design-related technical notes (notebooks, protocols, validations, qualifications, manufacturing documents, etc.) to maintain a complete design history.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provides design support for changes across the Metal Stent Portfolio.  
  • Creates the design change assessments and design validation or verification documentation and manage and implement design changes.  
  • Interfaces with Operations, Process Development, R&D, MTS, AEEG or Equipment Engineer and vendors.  
  • Communicates changes in project milestones and writes project reports as required.  
  • Experience of MRI for implantable materials an advantage. 
  • Must be able to provide technical guidance within a large team and be an effective communicator within a multidisciplinary and international organisation.  
  • Demonstrate a primary commitment to patient safety and product quality. 
  • Understands and complies with all the regulations governing the quality systems.  

 

Education & Experience:

  • HETAC Level 8 Degree in a relevant Technical Discipline, preferably Mechanical, Polymer, Materials or Biomedical Engineering.  
  • 4 + years medical device industry experience  
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven leadership abilities.  
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.  
  • Candidates should have a proven track record of working in a fast-paced environment with strong technical capabilities and be capable of handling multiple development aspects of assigned projects.
