EMEA Principal Product Manager Downstream Marketing, Interventional Cardiology

Purpose Statement 

 

 

Our Interventional Cardiology business is evolving rapidly as physicians treat more complex coronary disease and require clear clinical, educational and commercial support to adopt innovative therapies. We are creating a Principal Product Manager role to strengthen downstream execution across EMEA and translate franchise priorities into measurable market impact. 

 

The role sits within the EMEA Interventional Cardiology team, part of the New Cardio Division. It is focused on execution of the franchise plan, launch readiness, therapy adoption, country activation and business performance management in partnership with Country Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, HEMA, Commercial Excellence, Global Marketing and Operations. 

 

The role will support category leadership and differentiation for BSC by ensuring that strategic priorities are converted into practical market actions, aligned country plans and consistent execution across EMEA. 

 

In this role we expect the new EMEA Principal Product Manager to: 

 

  • Translate EMEA Interventional Cardiology strategy into clear downstream execution plans. 

 

  • Drive execution of franchise priorities, launch plans and market activation initiatives. 

 

  • Partner with countries to accelerate therapy adoption and support business growth. 

 

  • Track performance, identify gaps and recommend corrective actions. 

 

  • Create and deploy practical tools, messages and resources that support field execution.

 

  • Lead cross-functional alignment across Country Marketing, Sales, Medical Affairs, HEMA, Commercial Excellence, Global Marketing and Operations. 

 

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key customers, KOLs and strategic accounts. 

 

 

 

Key Responsibilities 

 

 

Franchise Strategy & Downstream Execution: 

 

  • Support development and refinement of the EMEA Interventional Cardiology franchise strategy, with clear linkage to commercial execution. 

 

  • Translate strategic priorities into actionable country execution plans with defined milestones, owners and business outcomes. 

 

  • Prioritize growth opportunities that impact franchise plans, revenue, profit and margin objectives. 

 

  • Drive implementation of key EMEA initiatives across markets, ensuring consistency while allowing for local adaptation. 

 

  • Lead execution of market analysis activities to identify opportunities, barriers, therapy adoption gaps and competitive dynamics. 

 

  • Provide data-driven recommendations to support launch strategies, portfolio priorities, market development initiatives and business planning. 

 

  • Support reimbursement and therapy adoption strategies in collaboration with HEMA, Medical Affairs and Country teams. 

 

  • Set direction for customer education, field enablement, events and market activation activities. 

 

 

 

Commercial & Market Execution Leadership: 

 

  • Lead execution of downstream marketing programs across EMEA to support business growth and therapy adoption. 

 

  • Drive launch readiness and launch execution for new products, evidence, indications and solutions. 

 

  • Partner with local marketing and sales teams to deploy EMEA initiatives, adapt messaging and support customer activation. 

 

  • Develop practical field tools including value stories, objection handling, customer conversation guides, launch materials and best-practice playbooks. 

 

  • Monitor execution effectiveness and share best practices across countries and clusters. 

 

  • Identify and remove barriers impacting commercial performance, adoption and customer engagement. 

 

  • Drive accountability for execution milestones, follow-up actions and business impact. 

 

  • Support customer engagement initiatives using the most effective channels and tools to maximize adoption and business impact. 

 

 

Planning and Management: 

 

 

  • Continuously review franchise performance and provide analysis and recommendations to maximize plans and objectives. 

 

  • Develop and manage annual franchise expense budget in alignment with strategic priorities and execution needs. 

 

  • Interpret and utilize franchise P&L, market data and country inputs to support business decisions. 

 

  • Develop annual franchise revenue plan and collaborate on franchise/divisional operating plans. 

 

  • Lead and monitor execution of product-centric plans including launches, lifecycle activities, supply transitions and portfolio performance tracking. 

 

  • Coordinate with Operations and Supply Chain teams to review forecasts, backorders, inventory transitions and launch readiness. 

 

  • Ensure accurate and timely reporting across the region for own franchise and key execution initiatives. 

 

 

Therapy Adoption & Market Development: 

 

 

  • Lead initiatives to expand adoption of Interventional Cardiology therapies across EMEA. 

 

  • Collaborate with Medical Affairs and HEMA to support evidence-based adoption strategies and customer education. 

 

  • Partner with KOLs and strategic accounts to identify unmet needs, adoption barriers and market growth opportunities. 

 

  • Develop and execute programs focused on awareness, education, customer activation and procedural confidence. 

 

  • Support development of customer pathways and market expansion initiatives where relevant. 

 

Product Context: 

 

 

  • Ensure product development initiatives and lifecycle plans are consistent with EMEA market needs and downstream execution realities. 

 

  • Provide input into market and product needs assessments based on customer feedback, country insights and competitive dynamics. 

 

  • Manage product prioritization within franchises and provide input toward global divisional development priorities. 

 

  • Work with Global Marketing and Upstream teams to ensure EMEA customer needs are reflected in portfolio, evidence and launch planning. 

 

 

Stakeholder Management and Collaboration: 

 

 

  • Demonstrate strong collaboration with clinical and economic customers and thought leaders to ensure the right inputs into portfolio, evidence, market development and commercial plans. 

 

  • Establish and maintain relationships with key EMEA opinion leaders in the field. 

 

  • Develop ongoing communication and relationships with key internal functional areas including IC product managers, Business Development Managers, Country Management, HEMA, Medical Affairs, Global Marketing, Marcom, Commercial Excellence, Operations and Quality. 

 

  • Collaborate with R&D / Upstream Marketing on development and execution of product development programs where EMEA input is required. 

 

  • Prioritize and coordinate franchise executional involvement with cross-functional groups including sales management, sales representatives, marketing communications and national accounts/corporate programs. 

 

  • Explore possible commercial collaborations with third parties in EMEA that would benefit the team and expand the market.

  • Ensure awareness and compliance with applicable standard operating procedures. 

 

  • Comply with and champion all quality and regulatory commitments of Boston Scientific. 

 

  • Ensure all downstream marketing activities, customer materials and execution programs follow applicable quality, compliance and regulatory requirements. 

 

 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience: 

 

 

  • Bachelor degree in Marketing, Business, Life Sciences or equivalent required. 

 

  • 7–10+ years of experience in medical device marketing, commercial excellence, sales leadership or product management; Interventional Cardiology experience preferred. 

 

  • Proven track record of driving execution and delivering commercial results in a matrixed, multinational environment. 

 

  • Experience in downstream marketing, launch execution, therapy adoption, market development or field activation programs. 

 

  • Strong business acumen, analytical mindset and ability to translate insights into clear actions. 

 

  • At ease in a clinical selling environment and able to engage with KOLs and strategic customers. 

 

  • Excellent planning, organizational and project management abilities. 

 

  • Strong stakeholder management skills with ability to influence without direct authority. 

 

  • Team player with ability to gain support of colleagues and drive cross-functional alignment. 

 

  • Ability to work autonomously, take initiative and maintain a strong execution-oriented attitude. 

 

  • Fluency in English required; an additional European language preferred. 

 

 

Willing to travel extensively - 50% travel required
