Business Unit Director, Peripheral Interventions – Southern Cluster

About the role:


The mission of Peripheral Interventions is to deliver minimally invasive therapies for peripheral artery disease, venous disease, and cancer. The division in EMEA comprises over 300 professionals across sales, marketing, and clinical specialties, supported by critical functions including Finance, HR, Health Economics and Market Access, Medical Affairs, and Medical Education.

 

This role will drive business expansion and portfolio growth across the Southern Cluster (Spain, Portugal, and Italy), leading a high-performing team inspired by improving patient outcomes and determined to grow market share through innovative technologies.

 

The Business Unit Director will lead the strategic planning and execution of marketing and sales efforts in alignment with EMEA franchise priorities. This role has full P&L accountability for approximately $80M in revenue and leads a team of ~80 (including direct employees, sales agents, and distributors). The role includes four direct reports:

 

  • PI Business Unit Manager, Iberia

  • Vascular National Sales Manager, Italy

  • Interventional Oncology & Embolization National Sales Manager, Italy

  • EKOS Cluster Business Development Manager

 

Reporting to the VP of Peripheral Interventions EMEA, this position is a key member of the EMEA PI Leadership Team.

 

Your responsibilities will include:

 

● Manage the P&L of the Peripheral Interventions division in the Southern Cluster

● Align with EMEA franchise strategies for Vascular and Interventional Oncology & Embolization (IO&E)

● Develop and execute sales and marketing strategies to accelerate growth and elevate business performance

● Ensure excellence in commercial execution, including expense management to meet objectives within budget

● Drive adoption of account tiering strategies and optimize sales execution and productivity

● Attract and hire top talent, foster a winning culture aligned with BSC values, and invest in continuous team development

● Promote marketing excellence through coherent planning and execution to increase market share and support new technology adoption

● Maintain strong relationships with key accounts and stakeholders; shape negotiation strategies for economically constrained environments

● Monitor industry and competitive dynamics, proactively preparing the organization to respond and adapt

 

Qualifications:

 

Required qualifications:
● Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required
● Minimum of 10 years' experience in sales and marketing, including significant senior leadership experience
● Demonstrated success in leading and developing sales teams at a national or divisional level
● Proven experience working in matrixed, cross-cultural environments
● Strong analytical and financial acumen
● Proven ability to influence Key Opinion Leaders and senior stakeholders
● Fluency in English

 

Preferred qualifications:
● MBA degree
● Medical device or healthcare industry experience
